Seven Pounds, an American film drama, was released by Columbia Pictures in December 2008. Star actors and actresses that can be seen in the film include Will Smith, Rosario Dawson, Barry Pepper, and Woody Harrelson. Gabriele Muccino directed the film which is about a man (Will Smith) that tries to save the lives of seven different people. It runs 123 minutes and is rated PG-13 for disturbing content, sensuality, and thematic material.

Filming for Seven Pounds was done in Malibu, Pasadena, and the greater Los Angeles area of California. Other actors that can be seen in the film are Elpidia Carrillo, Judyann Elder, Michael Ealy, Bill Smitrocivh, Robinne Lee, and Quintin Kelly. The screenplay was written based on a script by author Grant Nieporte.

Seven Pounds was basically kept a mystery by both cast and crew, with the trailers being very vague. The studio even refused to explain the title to those in the film community. Smith told fans after the film was released the title was a reference to Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. Director Muccino didn’t want audiences knowing what Will Smith’s character was going to be doing throughout the film; he wanted as much of an element of surprise as possible.

Will Smith plays Tim Thomas, an IRS agent who causes a fatal car wreck that kills seven people. He cannot get over killing this group of people, so in trying to atone for the deaths he caused, Thomas attempts to save seven different people’s lives that he deems worthy of saving. He awards each of these people with a certain gift that they desperately need. Thomas gives a lung to his dying brother and a piece of his liver to a child services attendant. He donates his kidney to a high school hockey coach, and gives some of his matching bone marrow to a little boy.

He moves into a motel and gives his house to a woman with an abusive boyfriend. He commits suicide by poisoning himself with jellyfish in a freezing bathtub where his vital organs will be preserved. His last and final gift is to give his corneas to a blind man and his heart to a woman who has a heart condition and a rare blood, whom he as also fallen in love with. Finally he has saved seven peoples lives, each of which he got to know and deemed worthy.

Seven Pounds was shows in order to promote various charities and raise funds for food banks, soup kitchens, and the needy in cities all over America. It was promoted in Dallas, Cleveland, St. Louis, Denver, and Miami.

Seven Pounds opened in 2,758 theaters its first weekend and netted $16 million, which was just $5 million less than anticipated. Critics gave the film and its crew mixed reviews. Smith won an Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture at the 2009 Image Awards and director Muccino, writer Nieporte, and co-star Rosario Dawson were all nominated for various awards as well.

Troy and Gabriella decide to perform on stage along with the other Wildcats on stage to commemorate the lovely memories they have experienced together at their high school. Troy and Gabriella have planned this musical performance on the colourful springtime. Songs of High School Musical 3 have amazed its listeners once again with their melodiousness.

Kenny Ortega has received accolades for the great job he’s done with directing the musical. He’s said to have brought audiences back to the musicals’ market. Credit must also be given to the amazing dance routines that definitely form the highlights of this musical comedy that also includes shades of romance.
