The Famous Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest

Vince Carter is a name well known in the world of professional basketball, perhaps most notably for the epic finale of the Vince Carter Slam Dunk Contest which was held in Oakland, California back in 2000. This marked one of the finest and most historic moments in the entire history of basketball.

Taking place in Oakland, California over an All-Star weekend, it rapidly came to be widely known as one of the best known dunk contests in the history of the NBA. At the time, Vince Carter was playing for the team, the Toronto Raptors. This team was also the eventual winner. At the time, he was playing with his cousin and also his teammate, Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis of Houston Rockets fame.

The Slam Dunk Contest of 2000 was Vince’s first attempt at this particular contest which made it even more impressive. Most notably, Vince made the first ever full 360, also windmilling the ball, utterly amazing the spectators.

The show certainly impressed the crowd something amazing and as a result he has become one of the most widely respected players in the world of basketball. In addition to his performance in the Slam Dunk Contest, Vince Carter’s career in basketball is also well known and respected for a number of other key events and rewards. Having won the NBA All-Star eight times in total, that is just the beginning of his impressive portfolio of awards. He has also accomplished the All-NBA award and earned an Olympic gold medal in 2009.

Today Vince Carter continues his prestigious career in basketball and played for the team the New Jersey Nets since 2004. He is currently playing for Orlando Magic which he joined in June of 2009, playing against other famous basketball players. His professional career in basketball began in 1998 and currently he enjoys a salary of over sixteen million dollars.

All About The Steve Nash Rookie Card

Weighing under two hundred pounds, at six foot three, steve nash rookie card has become more of a player than in the past. He now has taken a place among other greats, as one of those in the NBA who has made Most Valuable player several times. Only 11 men in the history of the NBA has done this and now he has joined them.

Arriving from Santa Clara to join the Phoenix Suns in 96, he stood overshadowed by Jason Kidd. In his first two seasons, he averaged three assists and less than 10 points a game. There was only 11 games that he started in within this time.

Dallas picked him up in 1998 and it is there that he went to all-star status. He returned to the Suns in 2004 when he went to free agent statue. Now the Suns would not want to think of what it would be like to not have him.

Mike D’Antoni’s way of coaching provided the helping hand needed by Steve Nash rookie. He became one of the greats when it comes to shooting from beyond and getting himself up to the rip for layups. Shooting now at the average of 19 points and 11 assists a game; it was good for getting him MVP for 2004-05 and 2005-06.

One of the times he won MVP was in 2004-05 and the other was in 2005-06, while helping the team become one of the best teams in the NBA. Although his scoring in assists and points increased in 2006-07, it appears that the Steve Nash rookie card, continues to not get the recognition deserved.

None of this takes into consideration his two MVP’s or the fact that his game improved even more in 2006-07. At least you can enjoy purchasing a card that has not been given the value deserved. Surely, someone will notice this at some point and the card will increase in value.

Dirk Nowitzki Girlfriend Drama Ends In Her Arrest

There has been a lot of talk about Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend rumors. The truth of the matter is no one knows if anything is true or not about the speculations. Dirk has chosen to keep his mouth closed about his girlfriend drama, but the press has led us to believe different things about this dilemma.

What we do know is that Dirk Nowitzki was involved with a woman by the name of Cristal Taylor. The two were seen together often and looked like two kids in love as many of Dirk’s friends would later go on to explain.

Dirk, however would probably argue the point. He bought Taylor an engagement ring which ran him about $250, 000. The two were supposed to get married in the near future. But, what Dirk didin’t know was that the relationship may have been a scam from the get go. Dirk Nowitzki girlfriend may not be everything that he had deemed her to be.

A lot of Dirks friends were pressuring the star to get a background check done on Taylor. She was always extremely secretive about her past and things she had done while she was younger. Dirk decided that a back ground check would not be such a bad idea.

In May Taylor was arrested for having two outstanding warrants that she never took care of. The police could not come soon enough to be able to open Dirk’s eyes to the many secrets that Taylor was hiding from him. Many of Taylor’s lies began to fall right into her lap. In fact Taylor had been previously married and forced her ex husband into an immense amount of debt.

Taylor had already gained access to some of Dirk’s money by utilizing his credit cards. Purchases were made without Dirk’s permission. Yet, when Dirk was questioned about the charges he didn’t say much either. By the looks of it Taylor looked like a sweet girl but underneath the facade she wanted one thing, Dirk’s money.

It was actually a great thing that the police came just in time to save the basketball star from going downhill because of this one manipulative woman.

It seems as if you can not go anywhere without seeing someone that has their bodies adorned in tattoos, look at the famous basketball star Allen Iverson’s tattoos for instance. Allen has been criticized for all the ink that he has on his body, but who is to say how many or how few tattoos a person is truly allowed.

Regardless of your take on Allen Iverson’s tattoos the fact of the matter is whatever he wants to do with his body is his own prerogative. In order to understand why Allen has so many tattoos you have to truly get to know the man before you can past judgment.

Everyone is allowed to express themselves in their own manner. For some people like the famous basketball star they need to use vivid images to keep them going and as a means to show people who they are without ever having to say a word.

The Truth Behind Carmelo Anthony And Lala Relationship

Some would refer to carmelo anthony and lala as a match made in heaven. Everywhere you see them, its as if they can’t stop looking at one another. Both of them met in 2003 and had their share of problems like any couple, but remain one of the hottest couples.

If you were to ask LaLa, she would tell you that Carmelo had been asking about her. DJ Clue was a mutual friend between the two, which Melo continued asking him about her. Finally, after some time, he saw her inside of a club and introduced himself. From there, it’s been a love story in the making.

The year after they met, Melo asked Lala to marry him on Christmas day. In 2006, Lala found out she was expecting their first child. On Wednesday March 7, 2007 their baby boy was born. They named him Kiyan.

Lala is about five years older than Melo. She is 30 and Melo is 25. Kiyan their son, now is two years old. Melo currently plays basketball for the Denver Nuggets. Lala continues doing various things in relation to her TV personality with MTV.

Presently, they have been together for close to seven years. At this time Carmelo Anthony and Lala, have still yet to marry. Many wonder when this will take place, but they often say they want to enjoy their relationship and don’t have the time.

Both of them have been through a lot together. They went through a period where Melo was arrested for a DUI and then Lala was ejected from one of Melo’s games, due to her becoming upset with fans. Additionally, there have been claims that Melo has been seeing a 24 year old in Los Angeles, whether true that is unknown. Melo and Lala continue a relationship as engaged, when they get married, who knows?
