The ‘08 season for the Seattle Seahawks was a lost season if you will – no one could stay healthy and the season was over before it began.
The 09′ season for the Seahawks should be well improved — the Seahawks might not be Super Bowl contenders but should compete in every game they are in.
New head coach Jim Mora should have his team ready week in and week out and the embarrassment of the 08′ season will be forgotten. He’s the type of no non-sense coach and going to make some quick improvements this season.
Matt Hasselback proved when he is healthy he is one of the most efficient QB’s in the NFL — the problem is he hasn’t been able to stay healthy the last couple seasons.
Since their Super Bowl appearance in 05′ – between 06′-08′ – the Seattle Seahawks have a record of 23-25 in the regular season and 2-2 in the playoffs. The Seahawks need to improve a great deal on offense if they hope to contend for the NFC West title – the Seahawks are in the bottom third in offense in the NFL.
RB Julius Jones is a formidable player who had a great season for the Dallas Cowboys in 06′ with over a 1,000 yeard rushing. He will need a 1,000 yard season for the Seahawks to make any noise in the NFC West.
It will be difficult for the Seahawks to contend in the NFC West with the improved of the San Francisco 49ers and the defending NFC West champs Arizona Cardinals — even though the Cards have struggles in the beginning of the season.
Hopefully, the injuries that wrecked the Seahawks 08′ season can be avoided in 09′. If they can stay healthy, they’ll at least be able to put up a fight in plenty of games.
